Pellopuu Oy granted ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate on 6 November 2008.
Extension and modernisation of the factory
A significant extension of manufacturing premises and modernisation of manufacturing processes has been completed at the Pellopuu factory. The extension increased Pellopuu’s facilities by over 2 500 m2.
Pellopuu launched the production of laminated log and glued laminated timber for sale and internal use.
The quality and process training courses organised for our production personnel have been completed and our goal – everyone working in production passing the quality standard examination – has been reached. During the change of the process, we were granted the ISO9001:2000 Quality Management Standard and we will apply for a CE label for our products.
Our modernisation plans paid attention to energy-saving solutions in new machinery and improvements in production methods at all stages of the process.
According to our environmental programme, we will fully reuse the by-products of the process, sawdust and chips. Dry sawdust will be sold to local farms and log ends will be crushed into woodchips and used in our own heating plant to heat our premises and dry timber.
